'Bali in Bengaluru' festival to bridge Indian and Balinese traditions across 14 venues

A transnational cultural festival titled 'Bali in Bengaluru' will be held across 14 venues in Bengaluru, bringing together Indian and Balinese cultural practitioners and organizers. The event is organized to celebrate and explore the shared roots of Indian and Balinese traditions.

The festival will focus on how familiar ancient epics, including the 'Ramayana' and the 'Mahabharata', have evolved across borders into distinct regional art forms. Through this exploration, the event highlights the cultural links connecting India and Bali.

Cultural practitioners will present these shared traditions across multiple artistic disciplines, featuring movement, music, puppetry, and oral storytelling traditions. The presentations will examine how the two regions interpret and preserve their common narratives.

By showcasing these diverse art forms, organizers aim to bridge cultural connections between India and Bali and demonstrate how shared heritage continues to take different creative shapes.
