Bengaluru Police Announce Traffic Diversions in Ashok Nagar for June 26 Muharram

The Bengaluru Police have announced traffic diversions in parts of Bengaluru, specifically within the Ashok Nagar Traffic Police Station limits, to facilitate Muharram processions on June 26. The temporary traffic changes will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in areas around Vellara Junction, Brigade Road, Richmond Road, and Hosur Road to ensure public safety and the smooth movement of the celebrations.
According to the advisory issued by the Ashok Nagar Traffic Police, motorists travelling towards Hosur Road via Brigade Road and Richmond Road through Vellara Junction, which is also known as Shoolay Circle, will not be permitted to proceed directly. Instead, they must take a left turn at the Old Police Station Junction and travel via Wood Street, Tate Lane, and Richmond Road to reach Richmond Circle. From Richmond Circle, motorists can continue via Shantinagar Junction, Langford Road, Nanjappa Circle, and CMP Junction to reach Hosur Road.
For commuters travelling on Hosur Road from the Adugodi side, the police have directed them to take a left turn at Cemetery Cross near Anepalya Junction. From there, they must proceed via Berlie Street, Langford Road, Nanjappa Circle, and Shantinagar. Alternatively, motorists may use Rhenius Street to reach Richmond Road and continue towards their destinations.
Heavy vehicles approaching from the Hosur Road side will be subject to a different diversion plan. These vehicles will be diverted via Adugodi Junction, MICO Junction, 8th Main Road, Wilson Garden Main Road, and Siddaiah Road before they can proceed to their destinations.
The Ashok Nagar Traffic Police have requested motorists and heavy vehicle drivers to cooperate with the designated alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion and ensure the safety of all road users during the procession. The diversions are aimed at facilitating the smooth movement of the procession while maintaining order on the city's streets.
