Bengaluru Police Search for Suspect Kenneth After K.R. Puram Triple Murder

The Bengaluru Police have deployed six special teams across three states to track down a suspect, Kenneth, following a triple murder in K.R. Puram and Gururaj Layout near HAL. Investigators revealed that Kenneth and his live-in partner, Shweta, who has already been arrested, initially planned to murder only Shweta's mother, Muthulakshmi, but ended up killing her father and younger sister as well when they unexpectedly returned home.

According to the police, the crime occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. The suspects had planned to kill Muthulakshmi and dispose of her body during the night. However, the unexpected arrival of Shweta's father and sister forced the accused to murder them too, resulting in the triple homicide.

The investigation has led police to a second one-bedroom apartment rented by Kenneth in Gururaj Layout near HAL, which he maintained in addition to his flat in K.R. Puram. Rented for ₹15,000 a month, the police suspect this flat was acquired to temporarily conceal and dispose of the bodies.

During a search of the Gururaj Layout apartment, officers found several suspicious items. Investigators stated that Shweta and Kenneth visited this flat carrying newly purchased suitcases after the murders. The police also suspect the accused went to a house in Doddanekkundi after the crime, where they allegedly mixed chilli powder with hot water and splashed it inside the premises to destroy evidence and wash their blood-stained hands.

The police suspect that Muthulakshmi's body was temporarily kept in a toilet as part of the disposal plan. Although Kenneth had shifted to a flat in Sigehalli nearly two months prior, he had retained the older rented house, which investigators believe was kept specifically for concealing or destroying the bodies.

According to the investigation, Shweta and Kenneth had accumulated debts of approximately ₹30 lakh. The couple had frequently quarrelled with Shweta's family over a share in the family property. The police suspect the murders were committed after her parents refused to divide the property.

Shweta was arrested in Puducherry and subsequently produced before the 47th ACMM court, which remanded her to seven days of police custody. The search for Kenneth continues across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
