Bengaluru Woman Files Police Complaint After Bumble Date Leaks Intimate Videos Online

A 28-year-old woman in Bengaluru filed a police complaint on June 19 after discovering that intimate videos of her, secretly recorded during a date in November 2022, had been uploaded to the internet without her consent. The local police have officially registered a case and launched an investigation into the illegal circulation of the non-consensual videos.
The incident began in November 2022, when the Bengaluru resident matched with a man on the dating application Bumble. The two chatted on the app before exchanging their social media profiles and adding each other on Instagram. Before their meeting, the woman verified the man's Bumble profile with his Instagram account to ensure he was not impersonating someone else.
After these initial interactions, the two decided to meet in person at the man's apartment, where they had a good time together. During the meeting, the man offered her a drink before they became intimate.
Following the date, the man allegedly began to gradually cut off all communication with the woman. He eventually blocked her on Instagram and every other social media platform, leaving her with no way to contact him.
Years later, the woman discovered that videos of their private, intimate moments had been uploaded to the internet. The videos were posted on the social media platform Reddit as well as another adult-content website, entirely without her knowledge or consent.
Upon finding the footage online, the woman approached the police on June 19, alleging that the intimate videos had been circulated illegally and seeking action against the accused.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the accused and determine how the videos were recorded and uploaded. Meanwhile, all identified videos have been taken down from the websites.
