Bikers Block Speeding Ambulance Near Yeshwanthpur Triggering Police Probe

A group of unidentified bikers performed dangerous wheelies and obstructed a speeding ambulance carrying a critically ill patient on the road connecting Yeshwanthpur and Goraguntepalya in Bengaluru around 2 a.m. on June 4. The reckless stunt delayed the emergency vehicle's journey to the hospital and has prompted a police investigation after video footage of the incident went viral on social media.

The ambulance was rushing the critically ill patient to a hospital with its emergency siren blaring when the group of bikers overtook the vehicle. Rather than moving aside to allow the emergency vehicle to pass, the riders began performing dangerous wheelies directly in front of the speeding ambulance, blocking its path.

Witnesses reported that the riders involved in the incident were not wearing helmets. Furthermore, the two-wheelers they were riding did not have visible number plates, making immediate identification difficult. Despite the loud siren of the ambulance, the bikers continued their stunts and refused to give way.

Family members accompanying the patient inside the ambulance recorded the hazardous behavior on their mobile phones. The recorded video was subsequently shared online, triggering widespread public outrage as it circulated across social media platforms.

Angered citizens have strongly condemned the actions of the bikers, demanding that authorities take strict legal action. Many have urged the Bengaluru traffic police to identify the riders using the viral video footage and file criminal cases against them. Critics pointed out that such reckless behavior goes far beyond a standard traffic violation, as it directly put a human life at risk by delaying critical medical care.

Motorists are legally required to give way to ambulances under established traffic rules. The Bengaluru traffic police have taken cognizance of the viral video and have initiated an investigation, examining the footage in an effort to identify the riders and hold them accountable.
