Fire at Nagasandra Metro Station Signboard Triggers Panic Among Commuters

A fire broke out in an illuminated signboard at the Nagasandra Metro Station on the Green Line on Sunday afternoon, triggering panic among commuters on the station premises. The incident, which occurred near the station's emergency exit, did not result in any casualties.
The blaze was first noticed on the illuminated signboard at approximately 1:30 PM. Metro staff acted swiftly upon discovering the fire, rushing to the spot to contain the flames. The staff utilized portable fire extinguishers in an attempt to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the station.
The Fire and Emergency Services officials received an alert regarding the fire at around 1:40 PM. In response, fire personnel from the Peenya Fire Station were dispatched to the metro station. They arrived with a water tanker and successfully extinguished the flames before further damage could occur.
According to police reports, there was no disruption to the regular metro train services during or after the incident. Officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) confirmed that trains continued to run as scheduled. However, as a precautionary safety measure, station authorities blocked off the area and prevented passengers from moving towards the affected signboard.
Following the incident, personnel from the Bagalagunte police station visited the Nagasandra Metro Station to inspect the site of the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
