Former rowdy sheeter Raju murdered near IG Circle in JP Nagar

A 29-year-old former rowdy sheeter was brutally hacked to death by a group of unidentified youths near IG Circle in JP Nagar on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Raju, was chased and repeatedly assaulted in full public view in the middle of a busy road by the group of attackers. The brutal daylight murder has stunned the JP Nagar locality, where the attack occurred during a busy evening hour.
According to local police officials, the violent incident took place at around 5:30 PM on Saturday. Raju, who was a resident of Pragathipuram, had reportedly stopped to have tea and was walking along the road when the confrontation began. A group of four to five miscreants suddenly approached him and launched an attack using sharp weapons.
Despite his desperate attempts to escape from the armed attackers, Raju was chased down the street by the group. The miscreants repeatedly assaulted him with the sharp weapons in full public view of onlookers on the busy road. The attackers then fled the scene immediately after the assault.
Upon receiving information about the daylight attack, the JP Nagar police rushed to the crime scene near IG Circle. Officers shifted Raju’s body for a postmortem examination and officially registered a murder case to begin their formal investigation into the daylight killing.
Investigating officials currently suspect that old enmity was the primary motive behind the brutal killing. Police records show that Raju had figured in a murder case nearly a decade ago. However, he had reportedly stayed away from crime and criminal activities in recent years before he was killed on Saturday.
The JP Nagar police have launched a search to locate and apprehend the four to five unidentified accused who fled after the crime. As part of the ongoing investigation, police officials are actively examining CCTV footage from cameras installed around the IG Circle area to identify the attackers.
