Kamakshipalya Police Arrest Three Men for Threatening Renukaswamy Case Witness

The Kamakshipalya police in Bengaluru have arrested three individuals for allegedly threatening a witness in the ongoing Renukaswamy murder case. The three arrested suspects have been identified by the police as Puneeth, Suhas, and Venu. They were taken into custody after reportedly using WhatsApp calls to threaten Sandeep, who is a key witness in the murder investigation.

Sandeep presented the details of the threats directly to the court hearing the murder case. He informed the court that the three men had contacted him via WhatsApp calls to threaten him and demand specific actions regarding how he should depose in the trial. In response to these developments, the court on Tuesday issued a stern warning to all parties involved, stating that any attempts to influence or intimidate witnesses during the trial would not be tolerated.

In a surprising turn of events, one of the arrested men, Puneeth, was already designated as a witness in the same murder case. Puneeth is the owner of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) that was allegedly used to shift Renukaswamy’s body. According to police investigations, the vehicle was used to transport the victim's body from a shed in RR Nagar to a stormwater drain located in Kamakshipalya. After the police seized the SUV during their initial investigation, Puneeth was made a witness in the case.

Beyond his connection to the vehicle, Puneeth is also known to be the administrator of a Facebook page dedicated to the actor Darshan. The other two arrested suspects, Suhas and Venu, are reportedly members of one of Darshan’s fan clubs.

The victim, Renukaswamy, was a chemist from Chitradurga who was kidnapped and subsequently murdered at a shed in RR Nagar on June 8, 2024. Actor Darshan, who is accused number two in the murder case, remains in judicial custody. The first accused in the case, Pavithra Gowda, is also currently in jail.
