KEA To Recruit For 11,938 Karnataka Government Posts In Major Expansion

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is currently preparing to conduct a massive recruitment drive for 11,938 government posts across Karnataka, marking its transition from an academic entrance exam body into a major state recruitment agency.
Originally, the KEA was created with the single purpose of conducting the Common Entrance Test (CET) for professional courses in the state. Over time, however, the authority has evolved to handle large-scale government hiring. From its origins as a single-purpose examination body, the KEA has steadily expanded its scope to manage direct recruitment for multiple government departments, particularly in cases where faster and more transparent selection processes are required.
The current recruitment drive for 11,938 vacancies spans several key departments in the state of Karnataka. The Home Department accounts for the largest portion of the recruitment, with a total of 7,813 posts. Within this department, the vacancies are split into 3,991 Civil Police Constables, 1,600 Armed Police Constables, and 1,687 Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) personnel.
In addition to the police department vacancies, the recruitment drive includes 1,320 posts within the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions. Furthermore, the Commercial Taxes Department has 706 vacant posts to be filled through this process. The remaining vacancies cover several other cadres, including the Kalyana Karnataka quota posts.
According to officials, the entire recruitment process has been structured under strict, fixed timelines to ensure speed, transparency, and accountability in government hiring. These structured timelines will govern every stage of the recruitment process, including the initial examination schedules, the publication of official answer keys, the declaration of results, the document verification process, and the compilation of the final selection lists.
