Man dies by suicide under moving garbage truck near CK Palya Road

A 29-year-old man died by suicide after throwing himself under a moving garbage truck near CK Palya Road under the Hulimavu police limits in Bengaluru during the early hours of Saturday. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 AM after the man's mother refused to give him money to purchase alcohol.

The deceased has been identified by authorities as Siddaraju, a native of Surpur taluk in the Yadgir district. Siddaraju was residing in Bengaluru with his mother, who is employed as a helper at a private school in the city. According to local police, Siddaraju was unemployed and struggled with an addiction to alcohol, despite repeated efforts by his family members to help him overcome his drinking habit.

The events leading up to the incident began on Friday night at around 11:00 PM. Siddaraju reportedly approached his mother and asked her for money to buy liquor. When she refused to give him the money and instead advised him to quit drinking, he became upset and walked out of the house.

After leaving his home, Siddaraju approached several of his friends in the area to ask for money, but they all refused his requests. He then wandered around the locality for several hours before eventually making his way to CK Palya Road. At around 3:00 AM, he positioned himself under the rear wheel of a moving garbage truck and died on the spot.

Initially, the Hulimavu police suspected that the death was the result of a routine road accident. However, a detailed police investigation and a review of CCTV footage captured from the area later established that Siddaraju had intentionally stepped under the moving vehicle.
