Param Foundation Opens Interactive Science Experience Centre in Whitefield

The Param Foundation has opened a new interactive Science Experience Centre in Whitefield, Bengaluru, drawing hundreds of weekly visitors to hands-on exhibits that blend modern scientific concepts with traditional Indian philosophy. The museum, which also has a branch in Jayanagar, aims to foster scientific innovation among visitors of all ages through artistic and interactive displays.

The Whitefield premises features unique exhibits, including a simulated submarine made of recycled cardboard that displays ocean parameters like temperature, pressure, and marine life at various depths on a screen. The exhibits at the centre are themed around the five elements of Indian philosophy: Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Vayu (Wind), Agni (Fire), and Akasha (the Sky).

Visitors can engage with scientific principles through various displays, such as a game testing the ability to distinguish subtle differences between primary colours. For those interested in advanced concepts, the centre offers mathematical representations of shapes beyond four dimensions, including a tesseract and a Calabi-Yau manifold.

In addition to the exhibition spaces, the centre hosts a workshop that visitors can rent for a day. This space allows users to test prototypes of devices like robots and create molds using a 3D printer.

Inavamsi Enaganti, one of the CEOs of the Param Foundation, stated that the mission of the project is to transform ordinary citizens into innovators who can find solutions to real-world problems. While the centre primarily targets individuals aged 10 to 25, or an extended demographic of 6 to 35, Enaganti noted that the experience is designed to be enjoyed by families, including adults and grandparents.

The Param Foundation is also planning to expand the concept, with a 14 lakh square foot premises planned on Magadi Road and potential international locations.

The Science Experience Centre in Whitefield is open daily except on Mondays. All-day entry tickets are priced at Rs 450 on weekdays and Rs 550 on weekends.
