Prakash Raj to join Cockroach Janta Party protest at Bengaluru Freedom Park

Actor and activist Prakash Raj is set to participate in a protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Sunday. The demonstration is part of a nationwide campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged failures in the country's education sector.

The protest in Bengaluru comes amid growing concerns and allegations of multiple examination irregularities. These include recent suicides of several National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) aspirants, question paper leaks, and what the organizing group describes as the collapse of the education system.

The high-profile participation of Raj is expected to add significant visibility to the political protest, drawing public attention to the group's demands.

At the time of the announcement, the CJP had not yet received official permission from local authorities to stage the protest at Freedom Park. However, CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka stated that the group remains hopeful of obtaining the necessary clearance from the local police.

The CJP has appealed to local citizens to join the demonstration. The organizers have requested that participants carry copies of the Indian Constitution and the national flag as symbols of their commitment to educational reforms and accountability.

The Bengaluru event is part of a larger nationwide agitation planned by the organization. Following the protest in Bengaluru, the CJP is scheduled to hold another demonstration at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur on June 15. That event is expected to feature CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and social activist Sonam Wangchuk.

According to Ranka, these demonstrations aim to highlight widespread concerns over paper leaks, examination irregularities, and the overall deterioration of educational infrastructure across the country.

Earlier, Dipke announced plans to expand the agitation to several major cities, including Lucknow, Amritsar, Jaipur, and Bengaluru, if the Union Education Minister does not step down. This decision followed a protest led by Dipke at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, as well as another major demonstration scheduled at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, for which the group had obtained police permission.
