Shankarpura Police Book Numerologist Aryavardhan Over Remarks On Goddess Lakshmi

The Shankarpura police in Bengaluru have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against self-styled numerologist Aryavardhan over alleged objectionable, obscene, and derogatory remarks made about women and Goddess Lakshmi. The police action was initiated following a complaint filed on July 3, 2026, which has sparked an official investigation into the video shared on various social media platforms.

The formal complaint against the self-styled numerologist was lodged by S. G. Suman Kumar, who serves as the founder-president of the Karnataka Govu Rakshakara Sene. In his complaint, Suman Kumar alleged that Aryavardhan used highly obscene and derogatory language targeted at women, while also making statements that directly insulted religious beliefs.

Specifically, the complaint points to a controversial statement made by Aryavardhan regarding the deity Goddess Lakshmi. According to the complainant, the remarks made in the social media video were deeply derogatory towards women and outraged their modesty through words. Furthermore, Suman Kumar contended that the statements were deliberately intended to insult religious sentiments and carried the threat of creating communal disharmony.

Prior to officially registering the FIR, the Shankarpura police followed a series of procedural steps. They first registered the complaint in the police station’s petition register under LPT No. 74/2026. Following this initial entry, the police issued an official notice to the complainant, Suman Kumar.

The police then obtained the video containing the controversial remarks and verified its contents. After verifying the video, the police department sought a legal opinion regarding the allegations. Upon receiving the legal opinion, the Shankarpura police officially registered the FIR against Aryavardhan.

An official investigation into the remarks and the video has now been launched by the police to look into the allegations of outraging women's modesty, insulting religious sentiments, and threatening communal harmony.
