Sonal Monteiro and Tharun Sudhir Announce Wedding on August 11

Kannada actor Sonal Monteiro and filmmaker Tharun Sudhir announced on July 22, 2024, that they will be getting married on August 11, 2024. The couple, who first collaborated on the 2021 Kannada film 'Roberrt', shared the news of their upcoming wedding by posting a creative video styled as a movie trailer on social media.

The video features both Sonal and Tharun, depicting what they called the "greatest love story" of their lives. Sharing the clip on his social media accounts, Tharun wrote that he is directing his greatest love story yet with his leading lady. Sonal shared the same video, writing that she is starring in her greatest love story with her gentleman.

The announcement put to rest ongoing speculations regarding their relationship. A day prior to the video release, Tharun had teased the news by posting an image of two chairs on a movie set labeled "heroine" and "director," hinting that the director had finally found his life's heroine.

The couple's professional relationship began when Sonal played a key role in Tharun’s directorial venture 'Roberrt'. The film featured Darshan Thoogudeepa in the lead role. Darshan is currently held in jail as an accused in the murder of Renukaswamy.

Tharun recently visited Darshan in jail to seek his blessings before the wedding. Following the visit, the filmmaker shared that Darshan was in good spirits and recovering well. According to Tharun, the jailed actor insisted that the couple keep their wedding date unchanged.

Tharun expressed hope that Darshan, who was arrested on June 11 along with actor Pavithra Gowda and 15 others in connection with the murder, might be released before the wedding. While jail restrictions prevented Tharun from handing over a formal wedding invitation, he confirmed he was able to receive Darshan's blessings for the union.
