Virgin Atlantic London Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Bengaluru Airport

A London-bound Virgin Atlantic flight carrying 270 passengers made an emergency landing at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Sunday morning after encountering a technical glitch shortly after take-off.
The aircraft had departed from Kempegowda International Airport at around 8:20 a.m. on September 6, 2026. Soon after departure, the flight crew detected a technical issue, prompting immediate precautionary measures.
Following the detection of the snag, the crew operated the aircraft in a holding pattern near Tumakuru. The plane circled the area for more than half an hour before turning back toward Bengaluru.
The aircraft was guided back to Kempegowda International Airport, where it executed an emergency landing as a safety precaution. According to sources at Bangalore International Airport Limited, which operates the facility, all 270 passengers on board remained safe.
The exact nature of the technical fault has not been specified, and authorities have launched an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the glitch. There was no immediate statement or reaction issued by Virgin Atlantic regarding the incident.
